Tatoosh

I hear that my persons are at last getting closer to coming home. They're now in Honolulu visiting family there. The home in which they're staying is quite beautiful with a…get this…they have their own doggie swimming pool. Well, nobody really told me that but logically, it would be a great doggie pool because persons are seldom seen in it. Besides the great pool - the family also has a cat named Tatoosh - they sent me her picture - pretty cute, huh?!

Tatoosh is a great hunter (maybe not as great as I am) but a great hunter. She gets to hunt things that I’ve never seen or heard about. One of the things she hunts is a small lizard called a gecko. The little lizards live mostly outdoors but sometimes they're in houses too.

Tatoosh likes to catch and play with the little critters. Occasionally, she plays a little too vigorously and the geckos sort of end up in two or three pieces!!! Her persons are a little fussy about finding those little bits under their bare feet in the living room……persons are really particular sometimes, I mean really, a “great catch” one of those speedy little creatures – good work Tatoosh!

In my backyard, I don’t get to chase geckos but I spend a lot of time chasing squirrels. Tatoosh doesn’t have squirrels in her back yard as they were never "introduced" in to the Hawaiian Islands.

I know my persons think it’s great fun to see me chasing squirrels but I've heard them say they wouldn’t like to see me catch one! My persons are sort of like Tatoosh’s persons, very freaky about what they call “dead things” being dragged into the house. I made a couple of terrific bird snags, had mostly eaten each one prior to being discovered enjoying my catch, my person made a great lot of “yukky and gooey” exclamations and threw away the carcass - threw away the carcus, can you imagine?!

I've got so many metal things suspended from my collar – name, rabies tag, license. It’s pretty dang hard to sneak up on a bird with all of that stuff rattlin’ and clanking around! So, I'd think my persons would be impressed with my hunting expertise! Oh, well.....

So, anywho, I’m please to introduce Tatoosh to you. I don’t suppose I’ll meet her any time soon in person, but when we do meet we’ll have lots of hunting stories to exchange!

All the best,
Riley

thank you for introducing us to tatoosh. i wonder who would be hunting whom were the two of you ever to meet in person (or is it "in dog/cat"?) hmmmmm. tatoosh might have the upper hand unless she, too, has all those dangly things hanging from her collar.

Ella and Henry loved Tatoosh too! Ella is in the midst of reviewing her 'dog' choices for when she turns 10. Funny, the girl has a memory like her Auntie Jen. She actually think she is part cat, so perhaps we should feature Ella on your site....

Hi Bambi - thanks for stoppin' by, please come back

Lucy - I'm annoyed to say it but I think Tatoosh is not required to wear all of the noisy trinkets around her neck that I am - those cats get away with murder!

Literally, my person told me this a.m. she was at the back screen this morning with a scrunched up little gecko hanging from her mouth!

Sarah, Ella and Henry - So you've met Tatoosh already. She's supposedly a great little cat that now just "everyone" has met but me!

Luv,
Riley RFF

Hey everyone, to clarify my last remarks, it was Tatoosh at the back door with a gecko in her mouth.....not my person:)
